Thought for the day….

I often ponder the meaning or significance of my job.  I don’t work with the sick or hurting, I’m not a psychologist, I don’t teach children to grow up to be successful.  Instead I work for a big company doing the same tasks month after month.

So I ask myself, “How do I have a more meaningful life?”  This is a question I often contemplate.  Should I change careers and work somewhere that allows me to impact other’s lives?  I would like to think that when my working career is over, I have made some small impact in our world. 

Then I heard someone say that every job is significant, no matter what you do.  It’s all about how you interact with others -- and being in the moment.  Your job is your excuse for you to get to love other people.    

Wow!  Think about those words.  So if I approach every day in this manner, and spread my love to others, then that DOES make for a better world.  If can be as easy as saying Hello or just smiling at someone. 

If we will all spread our love to each other, the world will indeed be a much better place.  This is what God wants from each of us.  After all, we are all images of God, so how we treat others is how we treat God.
